What to expect…

SONG BOOKS: We now have 341 songs posted on our website. It is important to use these songs so that we can all play the same version. If you are a visitor, there will always be someone to share the music with you. It would be helpful to bring a music stand if you have one. If you would like to suggest a new song that is not currently in our songbooks, let us know. We love adding new songs to the website.
STARTING TIME: Our doors open at 7:00 P.M. to tune and setup. We officially begin the meeting however, at 7:30 P.M. This is the time the group welcomes new members and plays a few warm-up songs.
GROUP SESSION: After the warm up, each person has the opportunity to pick a song to lead. If you are not comfortable leading, just pick a song you like and someone will volunteer to lead it. If possible it is a good idea to have a couple of songs in mind before the meeting starts.
NEW SONG: Together, the group works on a song that was chosen during the previous meeting for this occasion. The song for our next meeting is “Smile” Songbook 3.
BREAK: At around 8:15 p.m. we take a break to mingle, to make announcements, to share information and to even have a bite to eat. (If you wish, you can bring a snack, your dinner and a non-alcoholic beverage with you.)
OPEN MIKE: 8:30 P.M. Here is where solos, requests, duets, ensembles, technique tips, and ukulele stories are presented by members of the club.
CLOSING SONG: We play our closing song at about 9:30 P.M.
(Newbies are always given personal instruction on one of our spare ukuleles.)
