What to expect…

SONG BOOKS: We now have 403 songs posted on our website. It is important to use these songs so that we can all play the same version. If you are a visitor, there will always be someone to share the music with you. It would be helpful to bring a music stand if you have one. If you would like to suggest a new song that is not currently in our songbooks, let us know. We love adding new songs to the website.
STARTING TIME: Our doors open at 6:30 P.M. to tune and setup, to mingle, to share information and even to have a bite to eat. (If you wish, you can bring a snack, your dinner and a non-alcoholic beverage with you.) We officially begin the meeting however, at 7:00 P.M. This is the time the group welcomes new members, makes announcements and plays a few warm-up songs.
GROUP SESSION: After the warm up, everyone has the opportunity to lead a group song. If you are not comfortable leading, just pick a song you like and someone will volunteer to lead it. If possible it is a good idea to have a couple of songs in mind before the meeting starts.
NEW SONG: Together, the group works on a song that was chosen during the previous meeting for this occasion. No song for this evening.
TONIGHT’S THEME: No theme tonight. Play what you enjoy.
OPEN MIKE: 8:00 P.M. Here is where solos, requests, duets, ensembles, technique tips, and ukulele stories are presented by members of the club.
CLOSING SONG: We play our closing song at about 9:00 P.M.
(Newbies are always given personal instruction on one of our spare ukuleles.)
